Katherine Ann "Kathy"/"Kady" Cates was born in Richland on May 9, 1954, to Ed and Carrie Cates. She was a life-long Tri-Cities resident and passed away at the age of 68 on January 8, 2023, at Trios Southridge Hospital in Kennewick.

She attended Lewis & Clark Grade School, Carmichael Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1972 from Richland's Columbia High School.

Kady was a retired bookeeper for Food Pavilion Grocery Store.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Carrie Cates; her brother, David Cates ('65/'66); her brother, Ron Cates ('66); her sister, Cindy Cates Ely ('70); and her sister, Susan Cates ('78HHS).

Hillcrest Funerals and Cremation, Kennewick, is in charge of arrangements.
