Joseph Allan "Joe" Hurley, age 50, of Pasco, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2005. Joe was born on September 6, 1954, in Minot, ND to Frances and Gladys (Harmon) Hurley.

He moved to the Tri-Cities when he was 11 years old and spent his school years in Richland. He graduated from Richland's Columbia High School with the Class of 1972. Joe later graduated from City University with his BS in Environmental Management. He attended Gonzaga where he completed his first year of his Master's in Education.

Joe worked at Hanford in procurement and also in the 200 area tank farms for ten years. He then became an entrepreneur opening the first commercial driving school teaching teenagers to drive in the Tri-Cities. He loved teaching and working with young people. He ran Columbia Driving and also taught P.E. at Kingspoint Christian School up until his passing.

Joe loved life and the Lord. He put God at the head of his life. He was known for his sheer kindness and his willingness to put others in need before himself. Joe's favorite verse that he lived by was Phil. 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

He enjoyed many things, his most important was spending time with his family doing things like fishing, camping, boating, skiing and running. He always knew how to bring a smile to your face.

Joe is survived by his wife of 16 years, Robin Hurley; his daughters: Trisha, Heather and Tiffany Hurley; his son, Jason Hurley; granddaughter, Maisie Hurley; his sisters, Marie Hurley Kvame and Annetta Hurley Jutlia; brother, Dave Hurley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frances T. Hurley; mother, Gladys M. Hurley; sister, Janet Hurley Landers; and granddaughter, Sydney M. Hurley.

Joe was loved by both family and friends. May this verse encourage you in these times of grieving, Phil 1:21, "For to me, to live in Christ, and to die is to gain."

His memorial service was held on February 10, 2005, at Pasco Christian Church located on 16th and Marie in Pasco. Contributions may be made to Kingspoint Christian School at 7900 W. Court in Pasco 99301.

Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco was in charge of arrangements.

His sister, Marie Hurley Kvame, passed away at the age of 66 in Minot, ND on June 23, 2006.

His son, Jason, passed away on December 7, 2020.
