ALICE MAY ROSE "ALI" LAGERGREN SCHOLZ ~ Class of 1972
August 1, 1954 - March 22, 2008

Ali Lagergren

Alice "Ali" May Rose Scholz (Lagergren), the one, true love of my life, passed away Saturday morning, March 22, 2008, after a brief, fierce, recurrent battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Scott; and our two beautiful children, Frances "Frankie" (11) and Liam (6). Ali also is survived by her father, Bob, and her brother, Kenny Lagergren ('70) of Richland; her sister, Linda Lagergren Swenson (HHS) and nephew, Lars, of Snoqualmie; and nephew, Josh of Seattle.

She is preceded in heaven by her mother, Virginia "Ginny" Lagergren of Richland.

Ali was born August 1 1954, in Minneapolis, MN, however, from the age of one she grew up in Richland.

She graduated from Richland's Columbia High School in 1972 and attended college at Gonzaga University and Whitman College where she earned her degree. She then went on to the University of Washington in Seattle, where she earned her P.A. degree.

She started her career as a Certified Physicians Assistant at the VA Medical Center in Boise where she coordinated new drug research studies in the late 1980's.

In 1991, she ventured into the private sector where she practiced with Idaho Nephrology. After the new millennium, Ali returned to the VA and assumed the roll of Red Team Leader, where she helped countless, grateful veterans live richer, healthier lives. I know her patients will miss her dearly, as will I.

We wed in October, 1991, and were fortunate enough to spend the greatest, most wonderful, fun packed, 17 years of our lives together. Thanks to my beautiful bride, I no longer fear the end of my life for I know I'll be reunited with my one true love again.

Our very special thanks to all those who have called and stopped by with food, gifts and a shoulder to cry on in our time of grieving.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Boise.

A memorial service for Ali was held in our home that she loved on Saturday, March 29, 2008, from 2 to 6 p.m. at 1027 W. Floating Feather Road in Eagle.

Family, friends and patients of Ali were encouraged to come and take part in a Celebration of her life and share some of the experiences and good times you have had with my beloved, Alice May Rose.

"I love you, Baby."
