Richland girl, 19, killed in car crash.
A 19-year old Richland girl was killed Friday night, November 30, 1973, in an automobile crash near Medical Lake.
Gina Lea Ward, 19, a student at Eastern Washington State College, was killed when her car left the road four miles south of Medical lake on Salnave Road, the state patrol reported.
The patrol reported that Miss Ward, of 1917 Pine Avenue in Richland, was southbound on Salnave Road when she lost control while attempting to negotiate a curve.
Her car ran off the road and rolled over four times, pinning her underneath, the State patrol reported.
She was pronounced dead on arrival at Spokane's Deaconess Hospital.
Miss Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Ward of Richland, had lived in Richland for six years.
She was born January 30, 1954, in Albuquerque, NM. Gina graduated with the Class of 1972 from Richland's Columbia High School.
Other survivors include her brothers: Robert Ward ('70) and John Ward; sisters: Jan Ward, her twin ('72); Mari Ward; and Mrs. Lisa Spreacker.
Services were held at 11am on December 4, 1973, at Central United Protestant Church in Richland with the Rev. Joe Harding officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
