ERIC RAYMOND "RICK" HARVEY ~ Classes of 1971 and 1972

Eric Raymond "Rick" Harvey was born in Syracuse, NY on December 13, 1952, to Roland Harvey and Aune Martilla Harvey. He passed away at the age of 65 on March 1, 2018.

He moved with his family to Richland where he attended schools in the Richland Public School system with the Class of 1971 and graduating with the Class of 1972 from Richland's Columbia High School.

He later attended Columbia Basin Community College, Walla Walla Community College and Central Washington State University. He was employed at various times as a draftsman, then as a nurse. In later years he devoted his time volunteering at the Union Gospel Mission in Pasco.

He and Kerry Carraher ('72) were married on July 29, 1973. To this union, their son Elijah was born. The marriage ended in a divorce on June 27, 1983.

Eric was a book collector and was well-read on a variety of topics. He had a vivid imagination and enjoyed making up stories to share with the young people in his life. He loved the quiet of the outdoors and found peace there.

Eric is preceded in death by his mother; his brother, Roland Harvey ^Jr ('67), and sister, Janice Harvey Griffin ('72 honorary).

He leaves behind his son, Elijah Harvey (Ana Fajardo); his father, Roland Harvey; his sister, Carol Harvey Yearout ('77); his niece, Shaune Salter; his nephew, Jonathon Yearout; and numerous cousins.

Services were held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland, Washington on March 10, 2018.
