SHEILA ACTON BUCHTER
U. S. Navy 1973-1976. I was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, AZ. I was the first enlisted female to live on base. Enlisted women had to live off base because they had no barracks for the women. On day one when I arrived at the base I was told I was replacing 7-10 men who were being shipped out to Vietnam to fight. Chief and Staff gave up their third floor for the enlisted women. 1979-1996 Navy Reserves. I drilled in Pasco in the old administration building which was left from the Pasco Naval Air Station next to the control tower and hangers. I was assigned to SIMA Pearl Harbor then to USS Samuel Gompers. I've done two weeks sea duty on the Gompers the USS Prairie. I got my sea legs on those ships. My favorite was drilling in Hawaii. Retired in the reserves, and my rank PO3.

DALE BENNETT (RIP 4/17/22)
Served in the U. S. Military as an Army Medic and received an honorable discharge in 1978.

DANNY HAM (RIP 11/2/05)
U. S. Army 1972-1974 and stationed at Checkpoint Charlie in East Berlin where he guarded Rudolph Hess.

JEFF HAMMACK (RIP 9/13/12)
He joined and proudly served in the U. S. Army at Ft. Detrick, MD for four years.

BRAD HUBBARD
I joined the U. S. Army in June 1973 for a two-year commitment. I was honorably discharged in 1975 as a Spec 4. After Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and Advanced Training at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma I served in a Field Artillery battery in Giessen, Germany.

BILL/"BJ" JOHNS JR (RIP 1/11/18)
Joined the U. S. Army and was stationed in Germany for three years.

MICHAEL LEMLER
I was in the Army in Nuremberg and Ansbach, Germany ‘73 & ‘74, 16th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Division.

FRANK LUZZO (RIP 6/1/15)
Following high school graduation, Frank volunteered for military service in the U. S. Navy, and served a tour of duty in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam conflict. He served on board the cruiser U.S.S. Jouett. After receiving an honorable discharge from military service in 1978, Frank returned to the Pacific Northwest and held a series of jobs working for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the University of Idaho.

MARK McCLANAHAN
U. S. Air Force 1972-1976 as a Security Police Sergeant stationed in Rhein-Main, Frankfurt, Germany and later at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, WA.

GREGG MORRELL (RIP 5/26/04)
U. S. Army for three years from 1972-1975.

CURT ORCHARD
U. S. Navy 1976-1981 and U. S. Navy Reserve 1981-1990 stationed in Newport, RI; Norfolk, VA; San Diego, CA and Washington, DC as a LCDR and Surface Warfare Officer.

RON RICHEY (RIP 10/28/08)
After graduation Ron served in the United States Navy from 1972 through 1975 as a Seaman Apprentice and proudly called himself a Vietnam Veteran.

DEREK RIEKSTS
U. S. Coast Guard. Enlisted in 1972 and served on the Great Lakes until the end of my enlistment in 1976. Afterward attended Central Washington University on my G.I. Bill. After graduation, commissioned a Coast Guard officer in 1980. Served on several Coast Guard cutters in a variety of positions, including Commanding Officer. Retired in 2005 as a Captain (O-6).

DONALD "ROCKY" SEMMERN JR (RIP 3/1/13)
Rocky joined the U. S. Army in 1972 and was honorably discharged in May 1978.

CHUCK SOUTHARD III(RIP 6/9/11)
He went into the U. S. Army in 1973 and was discharged from the military in April 1977.

FRANK TRENT
U. S. Air Force.

RICK VINTHER
U. S. Air Force Reserve, 1972-1986. Captain, Air Intelligence, Active Duty at Lowry AFB, Colorado and Bergstrom AFB, Texas.

RANDY WATSON (Honorary) (RIP 4/4/05)
At the age of 19, he joined the U. S. Army. After an honorable discharge he worked construction and used the GI bill to attend WSU.
